With 15
years of experience in acute care and rehabilitation based Occupational
Therapy, Jenny Nordine had a strong desire to develop a driving program to
provide the ultimate level of independence. This passion was developed
into Driving To Independence in 2000. Jenny is able to assist our
client’s with independence in the community to allow them to maintain or
return to employment or school, care for their families, socialize or
independently participate in their communities.
Jenny
began working in neuro rehabilitation in 1989 with a focus on
rehabilitation of brain and spinal cord injury. When working with
individuals in an outpatient setting the question was frequently asked,
“When can I start driving?”
As an
Occupational Therapist, Jenny has the education and experience to identify
an individual’s functional skills or limitations secondary to a medical
condition or aging process and the effects on driving performance. Jenny
is able to utilize adaptive methods or equipment to assist the individual
in maintaining safe driving skills and appropriate licensure.
Jenny has
presented at multiple conferences on the subject of Adaptive Drivers
Assessment and Training including the Arizona Occupational Therapy
Association in 2003 and 2004 and the American Stroke Association Stroke
Survivor Conference 2002 and 2003.
